From the baroque styled historic buildings to perfectly made croissants, Paris is one of those places that make you feel like you’ve stepped into the world of fine living. C’est magnifique!
I thought I’d share my recent birthday get away to the ‘City of Love’. My husband and I planned a very impromptu visit which would see us spending a day and night in this gorgeous city.
As we stepped off the Eurostar, Paris was just as familiar to me as my home town, London, in that things looked the same (but in a different way). As we made our way on the metro from the Gare du Nord station into central Paris it was an effortless journey as we didn’t get lost.
We knew we only had limited time in the capital so we focussed on covering the most famous landmarks, see as much as we could, visiting the Musée du Louvre (It’s a former palace turned museum housing huge art collections from Roman sculptures to Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa). The gallery was huge with people everywhere so trying to squeeze in a ‘people-less’ shot was quite tricky. Never-the-less, we were left in awe of the grandeur of this place.
If you only have limited time in Paris, definitely make a trip to the Eiffel Tower. It’s a must, right?! I mean the structure is fantastic, jaw-dropping….it’s superb – a feat of engineering. Of course, there was a long queue to enter, but hey….this is Europe, this is Paris, there’s always a queue! As one of the most famous landmarks in the world, I had to get to the top. I visited Paris on a few occasions quite some time ago and never managed to make it to the summit of this monument and, my oh my, the views over the city were spectacular.
People that stood next to me were taking selfies, hugging, kissing and beaming from ear to ear. It was super.
I’ve put together a gallery of our journey around the capital below. Hope you enjoy it!
I’ll end here with a gorgeous short video of the display of lights on the Eiffel Tower at night.

Jusqu’à ce que nous nous réunissons à nouveau paris – Until we meet again Paris 🙂
Peace and love guys,
